How to Share the Gospel in Your Workplace

Do you struggle to know how to share the faith with your coworkers? The line of professionalism may keep you guessing as to how to talk about Christianity in the workplace. Surely the last thing you’d want to do is make a coworker feel uncomfortable or cross protocol. Have hope: there are ways to integrate your faith into your career without coming across as preachy.

Start with Your Moral Compass

Believers are called to a life of integrity. In the workplace, this manifests as honesty and working as unto the Lord. Christians should be some of the best employees because of the values we uphold! Be a trustworthy worker, as this could very well give you the opportunity to share your faith. What makes you an honest leader or coworker? The fact that you’re guided by the Lord in your dealings.

Understand Your Identity in Christ

Much like people might talk about their family or what they’ve done over the weekend, don’t be afraid to mention that new Christian book you’re reading or that you attended church over the weekend. You might be shocked at how easily the conversation leads to things of faith, or even just allows your coworkers to know you’re a believer. This gives them an opportunity to seek you out should they have any questions about your faith. By being authentic in this way and seeing your Christian faith as a part of who you are and what you do, it comes across genuinely.

Strive for Excellence

Colossians 3:23 reads, “Whatever you do, do it from the heart, as something done for the Lord and not for people” (CSB). Having top-notch work can give you an opportunity to honor the Lord. If others ask about your work strategies, you can easily incorporate a nod to your faith and how you seek to honor the Lord in all things.

Your workplace doesn’t have to be a no gospel zone. As you work honestly and excellently, you’ll point others to Christ. But talking about your faith is important, too! Don’t be afraid to mention your faith casually. You might be surprised by the open doors it creates.
